Lighthouse surf break at Bluffers Park Toronto is in imminent danger of being destroyed forever. The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) will be seeking approval from government bodies (City Council) as early as September 2017 to approve coastal development in Scarborough, including the development of the Western segment of the Bluffers Park.

As surfers, SUPers and residents, we support waterfront redevelopment for the enjoyment and safety of everyone. However, the proposed changes to the Western Segment of the Scarborough Waterfront Project will destroy the most unique, high quality SW surf break in the City of Toronto which we call Lighthouse. This piece of the development will also stand to eliminate the SW swell in the Bluffers East Main Beach which is often surfed by the growing numbers of beginner surfers and SUP enthusiasts.

Save Lighthouse Surf Break Update:

The Scarborough Waterfront Project goes before the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) in Vaughn on Friday, July 28th. We don't expect any changes at that meeting, as we have already addressed this organization.

1) WE NOW NEED TO GET SUPPORT FROM CITY COUNCILLORS BEFORE THEY VOTE ON THE PROJECT AS EARLY AS SEPTEMBER.
Please reach out to your city councillors to schedule meetings about this project. Let us know if you get a meeting and would like us to join you at that meeting.

2) WE NEED THOUSANDS OF PETITION SIGNATURES TO GET THE CITY COUNCILLORS SUPPORT!
Please help us gather thousands of signatures of support to preserve surfing in the scarborough bluffs. IF EVERYONE GETS 40 SIGNATURES BY THE END OF AUGUST, WE WILL REACH OUR GOAL QUICKLY. To make it more fun, we will organize a few signature events over the summer. Thanks for your support!!

Proposed change to Lighthouse

Sand patterns on a light west wind at Bluffers Park Marina - April 26th 2018
Showing how the TRC plans to stop sand from the harbour entrance will not work. If fact the opposite will happen. A sand build up!
