Computers

All work is done on Laptop computers since laptops are both battery powered and  engineered to be power efficient, they use substantially less electricity than PCs. Computers are completely power down when not in use. Sleep mode with the pictures bouncing up and down doesn’t count. Hibernation does not count - normally it takes about 5 minutes for the computer to be fully functional once you restarted.

Lighting and power.

Low-energy light bulbs and high-efficiency appliances are used. Natural light is used.

Recycle

All rubbish or garbage is separated the into organic / non-organic, paper / plastic etc

Paper

Paperless office is set up with all information saved electronically. Invoices are emailed and were possible received invoices and payments are encouraged.

Cleaning

Organic Household Cleaners are used.

Clothing

We favour and purchase clothing of natural materials - i.e Don’t Buy Synthetic Clothes.

Sports

Support organisations who support and preserve such as Surfrider Foundation who is famous for its work for the benefit of both surfers and the environment in which they play. Also practise sport that uses human or natures power. Also spend time and recreation in sports that are close to nature so one appreciates what we have and our impact on it.

Buy consciously

When buying supplies, etc we are conscious of the packaging and support those who do not over package.

Travel wisely

Own a small car which is light on fuel, needs less maintenance & occupies less space. And we use public transport.

Heating and Air conditioning

For heating thermostat is lowered and cooling has been stopped using the Air Conditioner - fan cooling I used.

Printing

We encourage clients to print on paper containing a high percentage of post-consumer recycled fiber Use low-polluting inks - in most jobs, soy- or vegetable-based inks work just fine. Also consider - What is being done to improve the re-cyclability of the print job? Coatings, laminates, inks, foils, adhesives, labels, and paper selection can all affect the re-cyclability of a printed documents.
